Open letter from Stephan Choe to Abraham K. Lee from December 2000

"Therefore, who hears this my speech and does it, is like a wise man who built his house on rock." (Mt 7:24)

Bochum, Dec. 26, 2000

Dear Pastor Abraham Lee,
I have received your letter of Dec. 20, 2000 well. Thank you first for your patience with me in the last 22 years and for your love for me. However, I have realized that it is necessary for me to reiterate the essential reform concerns. Not marginal problems, but core problems should be properly treated and solved in the light of the Bible, so that the reform of UBF Germany would be done properly and God glorified. I visited you on Wednesday, December 13, 2000 to find a way to overcome the crisis of UBF Germany. We spoke for two and a half hours in the center of Cologne for two. That day, at the beginning of the conversation, I asked you how you would like to solve the crisis. Since you answered, that you did not change your initial opinion You said that you did not haul punishment on me and Isaac Lee, but asked only for repentance, and without repentance, you do not want to have a joint leadership meeting. You have repeatedly said the same thing (The content of your speech was almost identical to the content of your letter of Dec. 20). I reminded you that in 1995, I and Isaac Lee had called for the transparent victim report and the formation of the decision-making body. You answered that you could not remember well. You have repeatedly said the same thing (The content of your speech was almost identical to the content of your letter of Dec. 20). I reminded you that in 1995, I and Isaac Lee had called for the transparent victim report and the formation of the decision-making body. You answered that you could not remember well. You have repeatedly said the same thing (The content of your speech was almost identical to the content of your letter of Dec. 20). I reminded you that in 1995, I and Isaac Lee had called for the transparent victim report and the formation of the decision-making body. You answered that you could not remember well.
You tried to defend M. Samuel. You said, not M. Samuel Lee, but Korean shepherds were corrupt because they studied theology and published the books in their name. You said M. Samuel Lee would not have abused the offering because he lives sparingly. There I said to you: There are completely different two separate things, that one lives sparingly and that one must make a transparent offer of offering. Because you diligently defended M. Samuel Lee, I mentioned some of the reformists' main reform concerns in 1976: first, the sole reign of M. Samuel Lee, secondly, his use of force or compulsion, and thirdly, he had made no transparent offer of offerings. You answered: You were part of the physical training of the Reformed shepherds by M. Samuel Lee, and the training was not bad, but merciful. I ask you to judge by "sound" human reason, to claim that it was merciful to beat the shepherds with baseball bats! Or can you have such a training method in the Bible? You also said that M. Samuel Lee had sinned, but you should not criticize him. I said that the doctrine of the Bible must be applied to both the "little" people and the "great" people, and that if M. Samuel Lee had sinned something important, he should be called to repentance. You did not accept this teaching. You even said that M. Samuel Lee has absolute authority in the UBF (Korean: "Seol-Dae-Kwon-Ui"). I immediately said to you, "How can you say that M. Samuel Lee would have the absolute authority? Only God alone has the absolute authority. "Your conviction shows the need for the reform of UBF Germany: Because you consider the authority of M. Samuel Lee to be absolute, the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible is relativized and the warm cooperation of the staff is prevented. You also said that day that you sent offerings to Chicago, but so far you have not asked for a sacrificial report from M. Samuel Lee. However, it is your responsibility to ask him for a transparent petition report for a few years, preferably 22 years, and to pass on the report to us because you have sent offerings to Chicago. Anyone who has made offerings is also entitled to receive a report. If the report showed that M. Samuel Lee has actually properly managed the offering money, all unnecessary mistrust and custody will disappear, and you can say with a good conscience that M. Samuel Lee is really pure about the offerings. As head of the UBF Germany you have the duty, if someone in the management of the UBF, z. BM Samuel Lee had committed something important sin to exhort him to repentance. But you call those who first mentioned the grave sins of UBF leadership sinner and tried to isolate them, as I did and Isaac Lee. Is not it right that you first eliminate the true causes of the reform movement? As head of the UBF Germany you have the duty, if someone in the management of the UBF, z. BM Samuel Lee had committed something important sin to exhort him to repentance. But you call those who first mentioned the grave sins of UBF leadership sinner and tried to isolate them, as I did and Isaac Lee. Is not it right that you first eliminate the true causes of the reform movement? As head of the UBF Germany you have the duty, if someone in the management of the UBF, z. BM Samuel Lee had committed something important sin to exhort him to repentance. But you call those who first mentioned the grave sins of UBF leadership sinner and tried to isolate them, as I did and Isaac Lee. Is not it right that you first eliminate the true causes of the reform movement?
I also explain to you your false accusations to me:
First, in your letter, you claim that I demanded $ 10,000,000 from T-Center in Korea and rejected my offer to support me for $ 500,000 a month for six months. Tell me, in writing, the source of your information. Spread, please, no more false information: I ask you to give written correction information to everyone you sent your letter to. [Subsequent Note: This allegation was apparently actually M. Isaac Lee, the confusion was based on the misleading mention of the "T. Center"].
The fact about the help is like this: Last year God sent from the UBF Bochum 2 missionary families to Darmstadt, a family to Duisburg as a pioneer and Hirtein Anja (doctor) after her marriage to Aachen. In terms of numbers, we had sent out about half of the employees. All of these families had received jobs and work permits by God's grace. But we sent them out for the glory and well-being of God. In Bochum now remained mainly student missionaries and two shepherd families. There was the difficulty to pay the rent for the center. In January 2000, H. Bona Hong came from Taejeon to Bochum to help M. Samuel Park. M. Samuel Park was seriously ill at the time and was supposed to fly to Korea for healing. That's why H. Bona Hong and Shepherds from Taejeon offered them, to support the UBF Bochum monthly 1000 DM to pay the rent for the center. Initially, I had refused the help offer, but after the meeting with the staff in Bochum accepted the offer. But we did not want to get the help for a long time, maybe only for about 6 months. I told you this on February 7, 2000 at lunch at the meeting in Cologne, and you said that you liked Taejeon's support.
Second, you wrote that I did not work well with you. You have worked hard to work with me. Thank you for your effort and love. But who has sent German shepherds to Cologne without consideration? So far only M. Isaac Lee and I. Thank you for your visit to the Bochum conference, mostly on Saturday evenings. For this I have almost always sent some employees from Bochum to the Cologne conference. I wanted to focus on the Sunday message on Saturdays. I kept trying to work with you because of the teaching of the Bible. But there was a limit to your reason: if M. Samuel Lee had done something wrong, you kept trying to explain his falsity harmlessly. If M. Samuel Lee gave you an instruction, you often followed her blind. It is no wonder that you claim: "M. Samuel Lee has the absolute authority. "But you can not say that I do not love you or M. Samuel Lee. I love you and also M. Samuel Lee. Because I loved you, I tried to tell you the truth and help you properly, although I did not always help you well.
Third, you wrote that in 1995, I advised M. Isaac Lee not to attend the MSU Summer Conference. That's a fact. But you should know what happened then. Shepherd Peter Suh had committed a lust of lust. But he repented and gave penitents John Zun a letter of penance. John Zun and the leadership of the UBF Korea promised shepherd Peter Suh heartfelt support by the Hanyang UBF and by the UBF Korea for the China mission. However, as soon as H. Peter Suh went to China, H. John Zun gave the employees of UBF Hanyang a copy of Peter Suh's letter of penance and tried to condemn her shepherd Peter Suh and to isolate or remove him from the Hanyang UBF and the UBF , The leadership of the UBF accused him as a rebel against M. Samuel Lee. My suggestion to M. Isaac Lee was a protest against such an unbiblical act of leadership. M. Isaac Lee, however, rejected my proposal and participated in the MSU conference. In September 1995, I spent the night in Seoul at the Yeo-Seon-Do-He-Kwan Hotel because I was flying to China and at the wedding of Hirtin Wichen, who was the faithful mother of UBF Harbin in China, and M. Timothy Lee wanted to participate. Shepherd John Zun visited me there. He said I did not know about Peter Suh's sin and told me much. At first I listened to everything and said to him: "I already know all this. Why do you continue to condemn him even though he has already repented, as David did? "Shepherd John Zun responded:" David was a secular king but not a cleric (Korean: Seong-Sik-Sa). A minister may be in Korea, if he committed a lust of lust, do not work as a preacher again (Korean: "Seol-Kyo-Sa"). "I said to him," The Bible says that David was a prophet (see Acts 2: 3) , 30). "Shepherd John Zun finally said to me," Please comfort him (Shepherd Peter Suh). How lonely can he be? "
Fourth, you said that the reform leaders were dependent on their reformed shepherds of the province of Korea and therefore participated in the reform movement. This may be a bit wrong on the outside because most reform leaders come from the province of Korea. However, the main purpose of our reform work is to truthfully reform the UBF and give glory to God. We had invited almost all leaders, no matter from Seoul or from the province of Korea, to the first reform meeting in Wuppertal. We had only a few who strongly depend on M. Samuel Lee not to be invited. It is well known that you, M. Kaleb Hong, and the leaders who severely condemn our reform movement are heavily dependent on M. Samuel Lee and her shepherd in Korea. M. Peter Chang and some others said in the discussion in deer: "The servant of God is imperfect. But we must absolutely obey his orientation. "This speech shows in the best way the dependence on people.
Dear Pastor Abraham Lee, I ask you to take the essential points of our reform work seriously. We want to properly establish both our personal attitudes and our church on Christ. Therefore, I ask you to seek the right solution based on the Bible and sound reason. But I always thank you for your love for me.
God help you with this.
In Jesus
Stephan Choe

Translation of a report by a mother published in the documentation service 8/1991 p. 234-237 of the German Protestant Centre for Religious and Ideological Issues (EZW)

Experiences with the University Bible Fellowship (UBF) Personal Report by a Mother The »documentation service« already hat reported on UBF in detail in 1989. However, the publisher of the book »So Called Youth Cults and the Occult Wave,« pastor Joachim Keden, quoting from a series of reports by affected persons, imparted a more problematic view of this group. The report by a mother who accompanied the way of her daughter into the UBF and out of it, published in the following, will be supplemented by a statement of Pastor Keden in the informative part. The personal memoranda of the mother make clear which efforts she undertook to get information struggling in her attempt to evaluate the group and trying to help her daughter to dissociate from this fundamentalist group. Our daughter, a student, had got in contact with the UBF through a meeting with a friend, and she was a supporter of the UBF group in Cologne for any length of time. I would like to introduce our daughter briefly:

A letter from the Reform Committee to Pastor Abraham K. Lee

John 8:31, 32,  "Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him," If you will abide by my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. " Dear Pastor Abraham, We will wait until the 31st of January 2001 for you to withdraw the measure on M. Stephan Choe and M. Isaac Lee, publish the cash reports of the last 3 years over tithing, and agree to form a body for the important ones To discuss community affairs and make decisions according to biblical and democratic principles. If we do not receive a binding response from you by then, we will accept that as a confirmation of your intention, without working with only those who have remained with you.  Therefore, we have no choice but to start organizing the reform of the community.  We then find no reason to continue to send the tithe from the sacrifices of our employees to Cologne.  But you should not misunderstand that, as if we want to separate ourselves from each othe

Open letter from Isaac Lee to Abraham K. Lee in January 2001

"If anyone thinks he serves God, and does not keep his tongue in check, but deceives his heart, his worship is vain."  (James 1:26) Stuttgart, 06.01.2001 Dear Pastor Abraham, Thank you for your letter on December 20, 2000. I received it on December 23, but I could not answer immediately because we studied the letter of James last week.  All the staff received much grace, orientation and strength through this Bible study.  May the Lord bless you and your family rich this year and help you to serve God's good work in Germany! Dear Pastor Abraham, I'm sorry that you had so much worry and annoyance because of me.  In your ten-page letter, you once again showed me my "sin" and called me to repent.  The main accusation is that the reform-minded leaders would have gathered without your "permission" and caused the "split" and that the "spiritual order" would have been destroyed.  You also mentioned that I or M. Stephan T. Cente
